Saathi Football Coaches Workshop Kicks Off In Kathmandu
A-2-day football coaches workshop got underway here in Lalitpur from Thursday.
Saathi, a social organization based in Kathmandu, has been conducting the course. Football coaches, including ANFA coaches are taking part in the workshop. The notable coaches like Raju Kaji Shakya, Hari khadka, A Division coaches and AFC B Licensed coaches are taking part in the course.
The aim behind organizing the workshop is to create awareness about the violence against women in Nepal.
Saathi is on organization supported by AFC's dream Asia project.
Speaking in the opening of workshop, ANFA Prez and AFC VP Ganesh Thapa hailed the effort of Saathi for organizing the workshop.
"I am very happy to see the momentum gained by Saathi in the field of creating awareness about the violence against women in Nepal", Thapa said, "We are hoping to organize this events in the districts outside the valley too".
ANFA is the proud supporter of Saathi organization.
Saathi President Bandana Rana briefed the coaches about the violence against Nepalese women in Nepal.
"Personally, I was the victim when I was small. I was misbehaved by security personal when I went to see the matches at Dasrath Stadium". "We see fewer women supporter in Stadium", Rana said, "Why? We must respect women".
Rana described that if men and women go hand in hand, the progress of the couple is more likely.
"We are choosing football as a tool because it reaches to the mass", Rana said, "Coaches are more important in the game. That's why we are organizing this workshop".
The motto of the Saathi is "Our Goal - Stop Violence against Women".
