Welcome Message

Saathi meaning ‘friend’ in Nepali is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, which was established in 1992 to address contemporary challenges being faced by Nepali women. In keeping with this agenda, Saathi identified Violence Against Women (VAW) and Children (C) as an area requiring urgent attention and intervention and has been working on this issue since this time.


Saathi's program for the Earthquake Victims

Saathi has initiated the following immediate response programs :Counseling/Healing Program for women and children at Saathi office from 8 am to 8 pm. Counseling centers are also planned to be set up in major hospitals of the city. Volunteer counselors in addition to Saathi's counselors are being mobilised for on the spot counseling. Temporary Shelter Support to homeless pregnant/lactating women particularly targeting to those discharged from hospitals
Shelter to Earthquake Orphaned Children in Saathi's existing Children's Shelter.

Help Desks planned to be set up in major hospitals.
Immediate Emergency Response to Sexual and Gender Based Violence Victims/Survivors in the aftermath of the Earthquake.
