Orientation Program on Child Rights and Protection (Prevention of Child Abuse and Exploitation)

The Saathi WATCH program, organized two orientation programs at school and community levels with the objective of raising awareness among children, parents and community members on child rights, child sexual abuse/exploitation, pedophilia and sexual abuse vulnerability of children (boys and girls) from foreign and local child sex offenders. The ‘Orientation on Child Rights and Protection (Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation)’ took place in Ramechhap district, in February 2019. Approximately 50 girls and boys actively participated in school orientation program (grades 8 and 9); some 60 community women, men and local government officials attended the community program. The orientations generated positive responses from participants, with requests for regular orientations.
