April 17, 2023 – TOT on sexual violence to teenagers: Saathi conducted a 5-day training session to children of Saathi Safer Homes. The “training of trainers” sessions were held at the Saathi office in Nakkhu from April 12 – 17, 2023. The sessions were conducted by facilitator Binju Baral and co-facilitator, Monika Joshi.
The training focused on helping the children gain knowledge and be able to pass it on to other children on types of sexual violence and what they can do to prevent it. The activity-based training included team building games which was engaging and helped the children learn facilitation skills so that they can train other kids not just about sexual violence but also about adolescent health with topics such as menstruation, pregnancy and, reproductive health. The 5-day training program ended with presentations by each student where they received feedbacks to improve their skills as facilitators and encouraged them to pass on their knowledge and speak in public in a proper manner.
