December 1, 2023 – Saathi, in coordination with Lalitpur Municipality Ward no. 4 Office organised a cybercrime orientation program at Jawalakhel. This initiative is a segment within Saathi’s campaign on the occasion of 16-days of activism against gender-based violence.
The event garnered an active participation of approximately 60 women from the ward, fostering an environment aimed at sensitizing and empowering attendees. The event at enhancing the understanding of the participation on various forms of digital violence prevalent in the country and its consequential risks and impacts, particularly on women and children.
Anup Nasnani, the Head of Data & Communication at Saathi, led comprehensive sessions delving into the challenges in addressing the cybercrime. His presentations highlighted the complexities inherent in cyber threats while describing practical safety measures that women and children can adopt to be safe in their digital presence.
Sapna Maharjan, the Coordinator of Saathi Women Shelters, underscored the importance of 16 days of activism in ensuring safety, security and empowerment of the women and girls.
The program shows Saathi’s commitment to not only raising awareness but also equipping individuals with the necessary tools and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape securely.
