A self-defense training program has commenced for young girls in Krishanpur Municipality. This joint initiative of Saathi and Krishnapur Municipality Ward No. 2 aims to equip 1000 girls from various schools in the municipality with self-defense skills, addressing the rising incidents of violence in our program area.
In addition to self-defense training, Saathi will conduct orientation sessions to break gender stereotypes. These sessions will provide information on emerging forms of violence, including technology-facilitated gender-based violence, and effective strategies to address such issues.

This collaboration not only strengthens our partnership with the local government but also reinforces our mission to hold them accountable for preventing and addressing SGBV. By empowering these girls, Saathi aims to challenge gender stereotypes within their families and communities, aligning with the GOAL program Saathi has been implementing.

Saathi has signed a collaborative agreement with Krishnapur Municipality Ward No. 2 in Kanchanpur district to empower young girls through this event.

This initiative is part of Saathi’s ongoing program, Generating Ownership Awareness & Liberation (GOAL): From Harmful Gender Stereotypes and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), supported by AEIN Luxembourg. The three year GOAL program has been instrumental in raising awareness and educating young individuals about harmful gender stereotypes and SGBV.
