September 27, 2024, Lalitpur – The 32nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Saathi successfully re-elected its nine-member board today. The election was held unanimously, and the AGM also approved new policies and amendments to the organization’s statute. Sajani Amatya has been re-elected as the president, set to lead the organization for the next three years. Shailaja Rana was elected as Vice president, Keshu Shrestha was elected as treasurer, Soni Joshi was elected as general secretary, and Pinky Singh Rana, Sulakshana Rana, Saraswati Sharma, Bimala Shrestha and Raj Kumar Gole elected as board members.
Uma Rajya Laxmi Shah, the immediate past president, welcomed and congratulated the newly re-elected leadership, wishing them success. Most board members were re-elected to the same positions they had previously held. As per Saathi’s statute, the president may serve up to two consecutive terms.
In her remarks after assuming her second term, President Amatya emphasized the importance of expanding Saathi’s work areas while strengthening the women’s shelter program, the organization’s flagship initiative.
Executive Director Suvekchya Rana presented updates on Saathi’s programs, operations, finance and governance. The general members also highlighted the need for the organization to start focusing on gender and climate change issues.
