Kathmandu, March 14, 2026 — Saathi organized a joyful picnic for children and youth under its care at Switzerland Park in Kathmandu, offering a refreshing break from their daily routines while promoting recreation, bonding, and emotional wellbeing.
The event brought together children from Saathi’s Safer Homes and participants from the Youth Program, along with staff members. Set in a serene natural environment, the picnic provided an ideal space for relaxation, exploration, and meaningful interaction.
Throughout the day, participants engaged in a range of recreational activities including outdoor games, team-building exercises, music, and dancing. These activities fostered teamwork, cooperation, and a spirit of inclusion. Youth participants also supported younger children during the games, creating a warm and encouraging atmosphere for all.
For many children, such outings hold special significance as they provide an opportunity to step outside structured routines, express themselves freely, and build friendships. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and shared experiences, making it a memorable occasion.
The picnic also strengthened connections between the children, youth, and staff. Informal interactions helped build trust and a stronger sense of community, while staff ensured a safe and supportive environment throughout.
The event concluded with shared meals and group reflections, leaving participants with renewed energy, strengthened bonds, and cherished memories of a joyful day together.
