March 29, 2026, Kanchanpur – AEIN Luxembourg’s team, led by Executive Director Roger Martinez Dolz, along with Michèle Jensen-Carlén, Head of Communications and AEIN Nepal Country Director Ramesh Twayana, visited Saathi’s project sites in Kanchanpur. This was Mr. Martinez’s maiden field visit after his recent appointment as Executive Director.
During the visit, the team interacted with local government representatives, project beneficiaries, school youth, and community members actively supporting the program. They also met with the Ward Chairs of Krishnapur-2 and Shuklaphanta-11, both of whom expressed strong commitment to collaborative efforts in preventing and responding to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and promoting gender equality in their communities.
Both local units shared their readiness to provide matching funds and engage in joint initiatives, emphasizing the importance of expanding economic empowerment opportunities for women and girls—especially survivors of violence and those at risk.
Mr. Martinez thanked the ward chairs for their visionary leadership and assured beneficiaries that the program has the potential for a 5-year extension.
Saathi has been implementing the Generating Ownership, Awareness & Liberation (GOAL) Program in the area since 2024, focusing on building government accountability, community ownership, and active engagement in GBV prevention and response.
The AEIN team was joined by Saathi Executive Director Suvekchya Rana, Portfolio Manager Santosh Pokharel, Program Manager Anup Nasnani, Provincial Coordinator Parbati Bhandari, and other dedicated field staff.
