Kathmandu, June 05, 2026 – On the occasion of World Environment Day, Saathi Children Program organized an art competition to raise awareness about environmental conservation and encourage children to express their thoughts and creativity on issues affecting the planet. The event was led by the Saathi Child Club, demonstrating the active leadership and participation of children in promoting social and environmental awareness.

A total of 19 children from all four Saathi safer homes participated in the competition. The artwork was created around this year’s World Environment Day theme, “Climate Change,” providing children with an opportunity to reflect on the environmental challenges facing the world and share their perspectives through art.

Through their drawings and paintings, participants highlighted the impacts of climate change, including rising temperatures, pollution, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, and the importance of protecting natural resources. The competition encouraged children to think critically about environmental issues while establishing creativity, self-expression, and a sense of responsibility towards the environment. The event also served as a platform for children to discuss the role individuals and communities can play in addressing climate change and building a more sustainable future. The enthusiasm and creativity demonstrated by the participants reflected their growing awareness of environmental issues and their commitment to becoming responsible global citizens.

The art competition was an initiative that not only celebrated World Environment Day but also inspired children to become advocates for environmental protection within their communities.
