Kanchanpur, Sudurpaschim Province | June 19, 2026 – Saathi organized an art competition under the GOAL Project, supported by AEIN – Aide à l’Enfance de l’Inde et du Népal, at Udaya Secondary School, Krishnapur Municipality–2, Kanchanpur, providing adolescent girls and boys with a creative platform to express their vision of equality, dignity, and a society free from gender-based violence (GBV).
The competition aimed to enhance adolescents’ awareness of the harmful impacts of discriminatory social norms, gender inequality, and violence while encouraging them to become advocates for social justice through artistic expression. By using art as a medium, participants reflected on existing challenges and envisioned a more inclusive and equitable future.
A total of five groups, each comprising four students, participated in the competition. Through paintings and creative illustrations, the students highlighted the importance of equal opportunities, mutual respect, shared responsibilities, and non-violent relationships within families and communities. Their artwork conveyed powerful messages against discrimination, harmful gender norms, and violence.
More than a competition, the event served as a meaningful space for young people to challenge stereotypes, raise their voices against injustice, and promote positive social change. Participants collectively emphasized that equality begins with individual actions and shared commitments to respect, dignity, and inclusion.
The event demonstrated the important role that adolescents can play as agents of change. By encouraging critical reflection and creative expression, the activity strengthened young people’s capacity to advocate for gender equality and contribute to building safer, more equitable communities for all.
