March 8, 2024, Kanchanpur – This International Women’s Day, Saathi, in collaboration with Shuklaphanta Municipality Ward-11 and Krishnapur Municipality Ward-2, hosted events that united over 250 participants in Shuklaphanta and thousands in Krishnapur, including household women, teachers, security forces, ward members, students, and reporters. The celebrations featured rallies, singing, cultural dances, and traditional Deuda performances, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and the resilient spirit of women.
Ward Chairmen Sher Bahadur Saud, Shuklaphanta Municipality Ward-11 and Mr. Arjun Saud, Krishnapur Municipality Ward-2 praised Saathi’s dedication to addressing women’s issues and its efforts in ending Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), underscoring the importance of community collaboration. Flyers on mental health were distributed, stressing the significance of awareness and support for women’s empowerment.
Both events, part of the GOAL project supported by AEIN Luxembourg, aimed at fostering development and empowerment, served as a testament to the community’s role in advancing gender equality. Saathi continues its mission to advocate for women’s rights and equality, striving for a future where every woman’s contributions are celebrated, and their rights fully respected.
