June 5, 2024 – Saathi organized an art competition to commemorate World Environment Day 2024, inviting interested children from four child safer homes to participate. With a total of 11 children showcasing their artistic talents, the competition centered around the theme of Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience. Through their creative expressions, the young participants depicted various aspects of environmental conservation and the importance of combating desertification and drought. The objective of the event was to raise awareness among the children about pressing environmental issues while providing them with a platform to express their thoughts and ideas through art. Beyond the competition itself, the outcome of the event aimed to instill a sense of environmental stewardship and responsibility in the participants.
Furthermore, the children’s active engagement in cleaning their surroundings and participating in plantation activities underscored their commitment to sustainability and community betterment. This holistic approach not only empowered the children to become agents of positive change but also cultivated a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness between human actions and the well-being of the planet.
