Mahendranagar, Kanchanpur, September 3 – Saathi hosted a 3-day training in Kanchanpur from 1st to 3rd September 2024, , focusing on the Gender Transformative Approach with an emphasis on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Self-Care. This event was part of the “Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response Phase II” program, supported by the Norwegian Embassy, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and UNFPA.
The training brought together staff from safe houses in Baitadi, Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, Kailali, and Kanchanpur, creating a platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences.
Key speakers included Ms. Jayanti Giri, Women Development Officer from the Ministry of Social Development, who spoke about provincial plans and policies for safe houses. Ms. Pankaja Joshi, Women Development Officer of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan, shared insights on applying the Gender Transformative Approach in these facilities.
The event was also observed by Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly members Hon’ble Tusli Devkota, Hon’ble Santosh Sharma Thapa, and Hon’ble Gita Mal.
