Kanchanpur, May 18, 2025 — Continuing its steadfast commitment to the empowerment of marginalized communities, Saathi, under the GOAL Project supported by AEIN Luxembourg, has extended educational support to children in Shuklaphanta and Krishnapur Municipalities of Kanchanpur district. The initiative aims to promote inclusive, uninterrupted education and ensure the dignity and well-being of youth, especially those from underprivileged and Dalit communities.
On May 15, 2025, Saathi organized a distribution program in Ward No. 11 of Shuklaphanta Municipality, providing essential educational materials to 12 children from marginalized backgrounds. The support package included school uniforms, tracksuits, school bags, notebooks, and stationery items, significantly easing the financial burden on vulnerable families.
The event saw the participation of Deputy Mayor Kalpana Kumari Josi Panta, who commended the initiative, stating, “I am pleased to be part of Saathi’s impactful interventions. This support is crucial for encouraging students to pursue their studies with greater motivation.”
Ward Chairperson Sher Bahadur Saud added, “We are grateful to Saathi for responding to the ward’s recommendation and extending much-needed educational assistance to our children.”
Ward Member Shanti Ayer further highlighted Saathi’s broader engagement, noting, “The support provided by Saathi, not only to children but also to GBV-affected individuals, is commendable. We are proud to be associated with such meaningful efforts.”
The event was attended by 33 participants, including ward representatives, GBV Nigrani Group members, teachers, parents, students, and local media, fostering a collective commitment to children’s rights and education.
In a similar effort, on May 18, 2025, Saathi conducted a distribution program at a school in Ward No. 2 of Krishnapur Municipality, where 12 school students received educational support which includes school uniforms, tracksuits, school bags, notebooks, and stationery items. These kits, comprising school bags and essential hygiene materials, are tailored to support adolescent girls’ health, confidence, and educational continuity.
Ward Chairperson Mr. Arjun Singh Saud, who inaugurated the event, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Dignity kits play a vital role in supporting girls’ education and overall well-being. We welcome and encourage such meaningful efforts.”
Other attendees included Ward Members Mr. Rajendra B. Singh and Mr. Jit B. Chaudhary, Women Community Health Volunteer Ms. Shanta Giri, school teachers, and local stakeholders.
Mr. Tilak Bahadur Tharu, representing the school, and Saathi’s team expressed gratitude to AEIN Luxembourg for their ongoing support in championing the rights of adolescent girls.
Both events were coordinated by Saathi’s dedicated field team, in close collaboration with community leaders and health volunteers. These initiatives reaffirm Saathi’s commitment to fostering equitable access to education and dignity for all children, particularly those facing systemic barriers.
