February 16-17, 2025, Kanchanpur – Under its Generating Ownership Awareness & Liberation (GOAL) program, implemented in collaboration with AEIN (Aide à l’Enfance de l’Inde et du Népal), Saathi organized a crucial meeting of the GBV Monitoring Groups in Shuklaphanta and Krishnapur Municipality. The meeting aimed to review the action plans of 2024 and discuss the future plans for 2025.

During the meeting, the groups assessed the project’s interventions in 2024, which were highly appreciated for their positive impact on violence survivors. The support provided to survivors through enhanced livelihood opportunities, as well as the project’s awareness and sensitization activities against GBV and gender stereotypes, were highlighted as key achievements.

Chairpersons of both wards expressed their gratitude for the project’s contributions and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing the partnership in 2025. They stressed the importance of maintaining collaboration for the continued success of the program.

The discussions also focused on the support to be provided to survivors and children in the coming year, with an emphasis on setting clear criteria for selecting the most vulnerable beneficiaries. Members called for continued efforts in community-level awareness and sensitization on GBV, along with rigorous monitoring and follow-up on decisions, meetings, and project interventions.

The monitoring group members reaffirmed their ongoing roles in reporting and referring GBV cases and collaborating with concerned agencies to ensure survivors receive adequate support.

Additionally, the meeting featured an update on the establishment of an information center, where survivors and the community can access essential services. The committee discussed its role in raising awareness about the center and ensuring that information reaches the broader community.

This meeting marked a continued commitment to supporting GBV survivors and advancing the objectives of the GOAL program.
