February 23, 2026, Kanchanpur, Far-western Province – Saathi organized a series of interactive community meetings from 29 January to 23 February 2026 in the project areas of Krishnapur and Shuklaphanta, bringing together diverse community groups to discuss gender equality and the prevention of gender-based violence (GBV).

The meetings engaged members of Child Clubs, Women’s Clubs, the Chaudhary Community Group, Women’s Saving and Credit Groups, and Tole Improvement Committees. Through these gatherings, participants explored the social, cultural, and psychological impacts of GBV and reflected on the importance of building respectful and equitable relationships within their communities.

A total of 98 participants took part in the discussions, gaining increased awareness of GBV, challenging harmful gender stereotypes, and recognizing the importance of mental well-being. The sessions encouraged participants to actively contribute to promoting gender equality and preventing GBV within their communities.

The meetings were facilitated by Kamal Joshi, Meena Rawal, and Psychosocial Counsellor Lekhnath Pokhrel, who guided participants in examining harmful gender norms and identifying practical ways to foster more supportive and responsive community environments. The discussions created a safe space for dialogue, strengthening community understanding and collective commitment to addressing GBV.

These activities were conducted under the GOAL Project across both project areas. The GOAL Project is implemented with the support of AEIN – Aide à l’Enfance de l’Inde et du Népal, with funding from the Luxembourg Ministry of Development Cooperation and the Luxembourg Ministry of Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development.
