July 15, 2024, Lalitpur – Saathi conducted its annual social audit on 15th July 2024. The event meticulously reviewed Saathi’s organizational and governance strengths, programmatic achievements, and the challenges faced by the organization.

An independent consultant was appointed to assess Saathi’s organizational and programmatic status. The social audit saw participation of 71 people including Saathi’s development partners, representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs), and local government officials.

A significant highlight of the audit was the identification of sustainability as a critical area for improvement. It was suggested that Saathi explore social entrepreneurship to enhance the organization’s sustainability.

Santosh Khadka, Ward No. 4 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC), graced the event as the chief guest. Other notable attendees included Police Inspector Dachheki Sherpa from the Women, Children, and Senior Citizen Service Center at District Police Range Lalitpur; Sarita Maharjan, Head of the Community Development Section at LMC; Prakash Bhatta, representative of the Social Welfare Council (SWC); and Mina KC, representative of the Child Rights Council.

SWC representative Prakash Bhatta emphasized the importance of implementing the recommendations provided by the SWC during program monitoring. Community Development Officer Sharita Maharjan highlighted the need for disaggregated data on beneficiaries and further coordination with local governments in implementing social development projects.

Mina KC from the National Child Rights Council (NCRC) recommended that Saathi’s report include comprehensive data and case studies of the best practices and cases managed by Saathi.
In her closing remarks, Sajani Amatya, President of Saathi, expressed her gratitude to all participants and committed to implementing the feedback provided by partners and stakeholders to enhance transparency, accountability, and promote social justice.
