With support from AEIN Luxembourg under the GOAL Project, Saathi conducted two awareness sessions on online violence and cyber safety for school youth, recognizing the growing use of digital platforms among adolescents and the increasing risks of technology-facilitated gender-based violence.
The sessions were held in Shuklaphanta Municipality and Krishnapur Municipality on 21 and 27 July 2026, respectively, with the objective of enhancing digital literacy and promoting safer online experiences for young people.
A total of 116 school youth participated in the interactive sessions, where they learned about different forms of online violence and abuse, including cyberbullying, online harassment and other digital safety risks. The discussions also emphasized the importance of protecting personal information, maintaining privacy and confidentiality online, practicing responsible use of social media and digital platforms, and understanding available mechanisms for reporting online abuse and seeking support.
Through engaging discussions and practical examples, participants were encouraged to adopt safe online behaviors, recognize potential digital threats and become responsible digital citizens. The sessions also highlighted the shared responsibility of schools, families and communities in creating a safer digital environment where young people can confidently access opportunities while remaining protected from online violence.
By equipping adolescents with essential knowledge and practical cyber safety skills, Saathi, with the support of AEIN Luxembourg, continues to promote safer digital spaces and strengthen the capacity of young people to prevent and respond to technology-facilitated violence.
