Kanchanpur, March 7, 2025 – A Shelter Management Committee meeting was convened in Kanchanpur under the Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response (GBVPR II) Program and the Empowered Women Prosperous Nepal (EWPN) initiative. The meeting was honored by the presence of Deputy Mayor Neelam Lekhak Joshi as the invitee guest.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to assess the progress, achievements, and challenges of the shelter, with a strong emphasis on social audit and transparency in its operations. Participants discussed the effectiveness of current programs, the impact of services provided to survivors, and areas requiring further improvement.
A key point of discussion was the need for additional support from various municipalities to ensure the smooth operationalization and sustainability of the shelter. Members recognized that continued funding, technical assistance, and resource allocation from local governments are crucial for the long-term success of the shelter.
During the meeting, Shelter Management Committee members reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the shelter in various ways, including financial contributions, resource mobilization, and advocacy for policy-level support.
